'MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7' WRAPS UP FILMING AFTER MULTIPLE PRODUCTION PROBLEMS

  • Christopher McQuarrie thanked the entire team for their participation
  • One year left until it hits theaters

'Mission: Impossible 7' has finally finished filming after a long shoot with several production delays.

The latest film in the action movie franchise, which will see Tom Cruise's IMF agent Ethan Hunt tasked with another high-stakes, globetrotting mission, has been in production since early last year and hasn't had the easiest shooting.

However, the director and writer Christopher McQuarrie has now shared the good news that filming for the new movie is complete.

Sharing a black and white photo on Instagram of him and Cruise sitting on a roof and looking into the distance, he praised the cast and crew who have come together to make the film under such difficult circumstances.

All you need is good people. For our indomitable, unstoppable, and relentless cast and crew: even under the best of circumstances, it should have been impossible. Even having seen it, we can't believe what you've accomplished, " he wrote.

Words can never adequately express our gratitude and admiration, not only to you but to your loved ones. You are the best in the world ."

One of the new additions to the film's cast, Marvel star Pom Klementieff, responded to the post with three heart emojis, showing her appreciation.

The schedule for the seventh installment of the saga was interrupted for the first time in February 2020, when work was temporarily closed in Italy due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Production resumed in September, with audio obtained by The Sun in December with actor and producer Cruise yelling at team members for breaking strict COVID-19 security protocols.

Filming was halted again in June for 14 days after some tested positive for Covid on the set, with film production delays that also resulted in 'X-Men' star Nicholas Hoult having to abandon a role due to a scheduling clash.

After the delays, the film's release date, originally planned for July this year, has now been set for a year from now, and it seems like we have a lot to look forward to from the box office success.

McQuarrie has commented that the movie features "by far the most dangerous stunt we've ever done," involving Cruise riding a motorcycle down a cliff-top ramp, launching himself off it, and parachuting to the ground, while Cruise also has been seen filming on the roof of a train.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on September 30, 2022.
