Samsung Galaxy A12 Review: Decent smartphone
Design and appearance

Samsung has dressed its Galaxy A12 in a “unibody” case, as is mostly the custom on the market today, which means that at first glance it meets modern trends. The device is also available in three colors: blue, black and white.

If you turn the device over, you will be able to notice that its back is made in a way that consists of two parts: about three-quarters of the back is more matte, for a better grip, while the bottom is smoother. This is mostly due to the matte surface. There are also cameras on the back, four of them to be precise, while the LED flash is located below the quadruple-camera module.

The front is almost completely covered by the IPS LCD screen, with the now somewhat outdated “Infinity-V” notch reserved for selfie cameras. The edges around the screen are thin, which is always good, but the bottom edge is a bit thicker and there is more unused space there.

The right side is reserved for the power key, as well as the mute and volume up keys. There is a SIM card tray on the left and a headset on the top. One speaker, 3.5 mm slot and USB-C slot are located on the bottom of the device, just like the microphone. Screen and image display

The Galaxy A12 comes with a PLS LCD screen, 1600x720p or HD + resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, which means that the screen is quite elongated. The screen is 6.5 inches, which means that it is a device with a large and spacious screen, with a dot density of approximately 264ppi. The maximum brightness of 439 cd / m2 and is not very stunning. Still, with a contrast ratio of 1,740:1, the image display looks pretty sharp. Performance

Even if you are not petty and if you tend to forgive the “snapping” and jamming here and there, which can happen with most mid-range smartphones and almost all low-end devices, such things will be far more noticeable here. The phone simply does not work fluidly, even when running simple applications, due to the Helio P35 SoC.

4GB of RAM plus 64GB of internal storage is quite OK for this price range. You will be able to play a game here and there on the Galaxy A12, just don’t expect miracles. Call of Duty Mobile works on low details, but after about 45 minutes the device starts to heat up a lot, so this is something to keep in mind when playing games. Camera

The device comes with four rear cameras. The main sensor is a 48 MP camera, or ISOCELL GM2 sensor. Along with it, we also have an ultra-wide-angle 5 MP camera that offers a range of 123 degrees. There is also a 2 MP macro camera and a depth sensor, also 2 MP. The selfie camera is an 8 MP sensor. Battery

Battery life is another plus of this smartphone, perhaps even the biggest. Samsung Galaxy A12 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery and fast charging capabilities of up to 15W. The battery will last a day and a half, or even two days, without any problems, if you are not one of the users who do not detach themselves from their devices.

The charger that comes with the device is a fast 15W charger. But even though it is a “fast” charger, it takes a long time to charge this large battery from zero to 100%, about two and a half hours.
