XIAOMI MI 11 ULTRA DESIGN AND ERGONOMICS

Although it looks like that hump of the camera is so heavy that it will tip over and fall out of your hand, it is not. The mass is perfectly balanced, and the hump even serves as a support, so it doesn’t really slip out of your hands so easily.

The front screen is beautiful. It covers practically the entire front. The frame is very thin, it catches the eye so that the radius of curvature of the screen at the four corners does not follow the perfect curvature of the case.

At the top, next to the upper edge, it has a practically imperceptible speaker opening or call headset. The aluminum frame is in an impressive design, extremely thin on the sides, and spreads at the top and bottom.

On the left side, it is clean, and on the right, it has a volume control button and a Power button. At the top are the secondary microphone, the IR blaster of the remote control and the additional speaker opening, which is otherwise signed by Harman Kardon.

Below are USB C, main microphone and main speaker, and a tray for two nano-SIM cards. So it lacks microSD slots and a 3.5mm audio jack, but we believe you won’t mind.

Gorilla Glass Victus at the front and ceramic at the backbend at the hips to a metal frame. At the back, a huge triple camera module with a triple LED flash and a secondary screen emerges from the white ceramic, which it borrows from the Mi Band bracelet. It sticks out hard, it even gets stuck when you push the phone into your pocket, but at least it doesn’t swing over the table.

The quality of workmanship is, we would say, impeccable. The impression he leaves in his hand is fantastic. It is waterproof according to IP68 certification and will survive underwater immersion if necessary. DISPLAY

The screen of the Mi 11 Ultra phone should be practically identical to the one from the Mi 11. Mostly it is, but at least on paper, it offers a slightly stronger maximum illumination. It is a bright and extremely sharp 6.8" AMOLED screen in WQHD + resolution and with a 120Hz refresh rate. It looks great.

The difference in the smoothness of the display as you scroll through the content at 60 and 120Hz is clearly noticeable. 120Hz also works at maximum resolution, so you can enjoy maximum sharpness and smoothness at the same time.

With its sharpness, readability at an angle, expressive colors and contrast, smoothness of scrolling content, brightness and a thin frame, this screen is one of the most beautiful on the market. It also supports the Always ON notification display, but also handy tricks such as turning on by tapping and lifting in front of the face.

The selfie camera hole is not too conspicuous, and the fingerprint reader under the screen is in the right place and is fast in operation. It is protected by the new Gorilla Glass Victus glass. In addition to this main front screen, the Mi 11 Ultra also got another 1.1 mini screen on the back.

The secondary screen on the back is really what is called a gimmick in English, or something without real value and importance. It displays time, notifications, and graphics, or a message of choice. It turns off automatically after a maximum of 30 seconds, but to wake it up by knocking. I guess it is intended for those who keep their phones on the table face down.

It can also be used for framing when taking selfies with the main camera, and that is actually his biggest asset. I don’t know why, but the same can’t be used when shooting video, which would be very practical. CAMERA

On the Mi 11 Ultra, many have turned a blind eye to the cameras, and rightly so. Namely, it is equipped with four cameras. The front carries a 20MP selfie camera, which captures video up to 1080p 30fps quality and a pretty nice selfie with a blurred background.

At the back of that impressive camera, the module is three more lenses, including a 48MP Sony IMX586 periscope optically stabilized telephoto camera for 5x optical and up to 120x digital zoom.

The main camera is a 50MP f / 2.0 camera with Dual Pixel PDAF and laser autofocus and OIS. It uses Samsung’s GN2 sensor and captures 12.5MP photos by default by compressing pixels, and video up to 8K at 24fps. You will use it most often, and it also has another 48MP camera equipped with an ultra-wide lens and PDAF autofocus, but without OIS. And there’s the Sony IMX586 sensor.

The camera interface offers a handful of shooting modes, and of course, supports AI and autoHDR. Besides the automatic you will most often use, you will probably also turn on Night, Portrait or Professional shooting mode. Along with them, he also has a macro, but all those specialized like Film Effects or Super Moon.

The Mi 11 Ultra takes superb photos in practically all conditions with its cameras, although there is always room for even better. The dynamic range is otherwise great, the amount of detail too, and the blur behind the face impressive.

The Mi 11 Ultra also captures great video with pretty good stabilization and a bunch of detail. We believe that you will usually record in 4K resolution, but he also records 8K video at 24fps. PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY

That this is a super flagship is evidenced by the one in his womb. He has a Snapdragon 888 with 8/12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of data memory. This guarantees super performance, sleek interface operation, multitasking and gaming.

When you use the camera for a bit longer, you feel the heat right around the camera module, but never too much. The same goes for gaming sessions, were warming up from my experience has never compromised performance.

Xiaomi’s interface is sleek, the animations are fluid, the 120Hz refresh is just right, so the overall impression of the performance is what you expect. The fingerprint reader below the screen is fast and reliable, and you also have a face unlock selfie camera at your disposal. The quality of phone calls is excellent, and there are no problems with the proximity sensor, GPS, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It also supports 5G if you have it in your city.

Getting a charger today is a big deal for some. Xiaomi here in the package gives a 67W charger that charges its 5000 mAh in less than 40 minutes. Which is best supported by equally fast wireless charging, but only if you buy a special Xiaomi Qi charger. Autonomy is very good and even great if over 8 hours of SOT is enough for you, and it should be if you don’t want to miss your whole life.
