Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P Review
Resourceful sensors

The Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P comes in a standard round edition that has a large button on the front half of the robot. Be sure to remove all styrofoam pieces before use so that the robot can move freely.

The button is a clear sign to the robot that it has reached an edge because it will naturally try to be as close to them as possible during vacuuming, as well as the legs of tables and chairs where more dust accumulates anyway since you don’t walk there.

Our great advantage is the fact that the robot is cleaned from the top, that is, a good part of it is actually a cover that you can easily lift. Here you can find the dust tank release switch and pull it out and empty it, then just push it back into place.

There is also a tool that is hidden in every robotic vacuum cleaner: on one side is a small broom to clean the remaining dust, while on the other is a plastic hook with a razor at the end which, by cutting tangled hair and hair into smaller parts, you can quickly clean system. Since all manufacturers have equal, efficient access, cleaning and tampering is not a problem.

Here, instead of a standard tank, you can put one with a water supply that fits relatively little, enough for a room or a hallway of smaller dimensions. Along with the water, it is necessary to attach the attachment to the bottom of the vacuum cleaner with the microfiber cloth that comes with it.

The cloth will get wet and thus additionally clean hard floors. Next to the lid on the top you may notice a small chimney-like protrusion whose orange interior rotates while the vacuum cleaner is running.

It is a LiDAR system, perhaps the most modern addition to a standard robotic vacuum cleaner, which should be taken care of so as not to step on or damage it.

It can accurately determine the distance of the robot from all vertical obstacles, and because it is the highest point of the vacuum cleaner, if it does not detect an obstacle, it means that it can generally pass under it. The system will constantly monitor the space, and you will see the best view of how it works when you first start the vacuum cleaner and it starts mapping the rooms.

The bottom of the vacuum cleaner contains two standard large wheels for drive and a third for stability. Around the middle you can clearly see the roller that helps the vacuum cleaner to pick up the little things that are immediately pulled from the carpet thanks to the strong power of the suction. The model has three power levels, depending on the surface and your volume preference, which also affect cleaning efficiency.

The roller is easily removed and cleaned, and all parts where dirt could get stuck are easily accessible to the user. The dirt tank can also be washed, just remove the filters, which must not get wet. They also need to be changed regularly to make everything work like on the first day. Application and experience

The whole relationship with the vacuum cleaner takes place through the application and, once you turn it on, you technically do not need to touch it, except when cleaning it. The application has a login and registration process, after which it will try to find the vacuum cleaner automatically.

We had to add it manually, but after that everything went as expected. The vacuum cleaner will need the WiFi 2.4 network name and code to connect, which will allow the application to work even when you are connected yourself, without constantly connecting to the vacuum cleaner.

The first run will map all the rooms in the house, so wait for it to fill up if you have a larger square footage. For a start, we limited ourselves to one room, so the vacuum cleaner mapped everything and managed not to get stuck in the edges of the furniture, which is definitely an advantage. But a few days later it simply disappeared from the app and could not be reconnected.

The solution was to reinstall the app, so it reappeared and was available after logging in. In the test, he sucked rice and trampled chips with the carpet, but the flour was a challenge for him and there was still a little bit left.

We also rubbed dog hair into the carpet and we can say that the vacuum cleaner managed to solve about 80% of the problems in one cycle, you should bend down and look for where the rest is. By choosing focused vacuuming one location he went through the surface in much more detail, but we still saw flour on parts of the carpet.

Of course, it is easier to clean such impurities on hard surfaces, but a rotating brush can scatter rice on the first pass. In case of such spills, you have the option of double cleaning the space, which allows all previously scattered rice to be cleaned.

As we mentioned, the microfiber cloth he pulls behind him can further refresh the space, but it does not put much pressure on the floor, so it will not clean stubborn stains, which, after all, is not its purpose.

After all, the robotic vacuum cleaner is ideal for collecting everyday crumbs and dust and will reduce your cleaning from every few days to once a month or less, depending on the number of householders. However, we still believe that after some time it will be necessary to clean the surfaces yourself.

Mi Robot is equipped with advanced sensors such as LiDAR and IR sensors and is able to map space well. The wet wash additive is more for extra dust and you will not be able to clean stains with it. Also, Mi Robot serves to maintain cleanliness and as we have already mentioned it will still be necessary to occasionally throw yourself into cleaning.
