WhatsApp has been available on computers for some time, but it is essentially a mobile application, adapted for the desktop. According to a source from Italy, that will change in the future, as the company develops a completely new application for Windows and macOS.
Aggiornamenti Lumia has released screenshots and gifs, revealing what the new software will look like and what its key features will be.
WhatsApp UWP (Universal Windows platform, allows the application to be used on Xbox) will be designed in accordance with Windows 11, with translucent panels. It will work even when it is closed, and notifications will arrive as usual, and it will not take more than a second to start.
The application will have a drawing function that will be very neat for devices with touch screens, as you can see in the gif below.
The settings will be grouped into six categories - General, Account, Chat, Notifications, Storage, Help. The app is very similar to Skype, but with some flat design elements and the traditional green color of chat bubbles.
WABetaInfo added that the new version is also coming to macOS. The main changes will be the improved user interface, but the time of publication is still unknown.
