Intel is preparing cheaper Alder Lake processors

We are here after the premiere of the first Intel Alder Lake processors (Core 12th gen), which made a lot of confusion in the higher performance segment. If you are waiting for cheaper models, we have good news.

Intel initially unveiled unlocked versions of the processors (including the Core i9-12900K and  Core i5-12600K models we tested ). We know that the manufacturer does not intend to stop there and is also preparing weaker and cheaper units. Cheaper Intel Alder Lake processors are coming

The VideoCardz service has reached the specifications of the next 12th generation processors: Core i3-12100F, Core i5-12400F, Core i7-12700F. Note F indicates the lack of integrated graphics (such models will need to be combined with a standalone graphics card).

* unofficial specification

It is worth paying attention to the specification of the Core i3-12100F and Core i5-12400F models - unlike the more efficient designs, the systems have only been equipped with more efficient P-Core cores (we will not find E-Core here). The TDP coefficient is estimated at 65 W.

The Core i7-12700F has similar specifications to the Core i7-12700K model. The processor offers 8 cores / 16 threads P-Core and 4 cores / 4 threads E-Core, and the difference comes down to a lower clock speed and a locked multiplier (you will not be able to overclock it). The unit is also to be characterized by a lower TDP coefficient. New cooling for Intel Alder Lake processors

However, this is not the end of interesting facts. It turns out that weaker versions of processors (models with a TDP of 65 W) will be equipped with new cooling.

The cooler uses an aluminum radiator with radiant fins and a small fan. I must admit that the whole look is quite impressive (especially for standard BOX cooling). When is the premiere of the new Intel Alder Lake processors?

The next, weaker 12th generation Intel processors can be a tasty morsel for people who build weaker and cheaper computers (especially in combination with cheaper motherboards with the H670 or B660 chipset).

According to unofficial leaks, the new designs are to be presented on January 4, 2022 (right before CES 2022). Will they prove to be a similar hit as the more efficient, unlocked models? We will find out after the tests.
