All new models from the S22 series come with Android 12 and One UI 4.1 interface, and it should be noted that the South Korean company said that the phones will receive four Android OS updates, which will certainly mean those who do not change their devices often
Although almost everything was already known thanks to the leaked information, Samsung officially presented this Wednesday a new series of its flagship smartphones, which, as in recent years, consists of three models - Galaxy S22, S22 + and S22 Ultra.Galaxy S22 and S22 +
In its Unpacked event, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S22 and S22 + as phones for the younger generations. Namely, these are devices that do not differ much in design from last year’s S21 series, but are made of sustainable plastic materials from fishing nets, have a slightly stronger Armor Aluminum frame and a brand new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus +.
They are powered, as expected, by Qualcomm’s flagship SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, although in some regions, it will come with Samsung’s Exynos 2200. Both will be paired with 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB of internal memory.
As already announced, the S22 is a noticeably smaller device. It has a 6.1" flat AMOLED 2X FHD + display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a response rate of 240 Hz and a brightness of up to 1,300 nits. For those who find it too small, Samsung offers the S22 + with a slightly brighter 6.6-inch screen.
The South Korean company has spent a lot of time boasting cameras on the S22 and S22 + models, especially their larger main sensor and numerous features that will especially benefit wannabe influencers.
On paper, both models have the same triple camera system - 50 MP main, 12 MP ultra wide and 10 MP telephoto with 3X optical zoom. There is, furthermore, improved VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization) technology for those with trembling hands, but also improved shooting at night. The 10 MP front camera is responsible for the selfies.
Since many Samsung users often complain about the device’s battery, they will certainly not like the fact that the S22 comes with a slightly smaller 3,700 mAh battery with support for 25 W wired charging and 15 W wireless support. However, this was to be expected. , since the dimensions of the device have nevertheless decreased.
On the other hand, the S22 + has a slightly larger 4,500 mAh battery with support for 45 W wired charging and 15 W wireless support. It should be noted that it also comes with support for UWB (Ultra Wide Band) and Wi-Fi 6E.Galaxy S22 Ultra
The star of the Unpacked event is certainly the S22 Ultra, which, unlike its “little brothers”, is intended for those for whom the phone is not only for entertainment but also for serious business. This, of course, is mostly because of the S Pen in the Ultra case, so it can be said that Samsung’s Note series was officially sent to a nursing home.
In addition to appropriating the S Pen, the Ultra also boasts a “cube” Note design, which will awaken nostalgia for some and discomfort for others. The S22 Ultra comes with a slightly curved 6.8" QHD + Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a response rate of 240 Hz and a brightness of up to 1,750 nits. The front and back of the device are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus +.
The S22 Ultra will be powered by a 4 nm Exynos 2200 paired with up to 12 GB RAM and up to 1 TB of internal memory. On the “back” is a system of four cameras - the main 108 MP, ultra-wide 12 MP, 3X telephoto 10 MP, as well as another telephoto with 10X optical zoom.
Of course, there are a handful of features for enhanced shooting, whose functionality can only be judged in testing, but it is worth noting the Space Zoom feature that actually allows “hybrid” zoom of as much as 100X.
The S22 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45 W wired charging and 15 W wireless support. The device will come in black, white, green and red and is already available for pre-order.
