Vivo was expected to release its first tablet in January, but that didn’t happen. However, later in August, the vice president of the company Vivo said that the company will launch the tablet in the first half of 2022, which means at any time between January and June. And while we wait for more details from Vivo about his first tablet, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the company will launch a tablet with a Snapdragon 870 SoC. Although it is unclear whether it refers to the first tablet or the second model of the company Vivo.
We also don't know the name of the Vivo tablet, but in June the company protected the "Vivo Pad" trademark at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) under class 9, which covers several product categories, including PDAs and tablets.
The Vivo device believed to be a tablet was also spotted on the TUV website with an 8,040 mAh battery.
Vivo is not the first company from the BBK Electronics group to launch a tablet, reports GSM Arena. That part belongs to Realme, which launched the Realme Pad in September with a slim design, metal construction, Helio G80 chip, 10.4-inch screen, and 7100 mAh battery.
In addition to Vivo, OnePlus and Oppo are expected to enter the tablet segment. The first one protected the name "OnePlus Pad" at EUIPO in July, and earlier this month we saw a leaked picture of the latter.
Several leaked screenshots revealed that the Oppo Pad (temporary name) will come with a Snapdragon 870 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, ColorOS 12 based on Android 11, and a 120Hz screen, for which Digital Chat Station says is an 11 "LCD with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.
The tipster also claims that the Oppo Pad will come with a 13 MP primary camera, an 8 MP secondary camera, an 8,080 mAh battery, and a base price of 2,000 CNI (310 USD / 275 EUR) in China.
