ASUS ROG Strix XG32UQ, a monitor to enhance the 'gamer' facet

ASUS has unveiled the XG32UQ, their first ROG Strix 32-inch display with native 4K resolution. The ASUS ROG Strix XG32UQ provides a good portion of what may be expected in a peripheral of this type, both in terms of functionality and connectivity, as is typical of the Republic of Gamers brand.

First and foremost, there is compatibility for HDMI 2.1, the most recent version of the interface protocol for transferring audio and video.

Furthermore, it enables a refresh rate of 120Hz for video game consoles via said interface. It, on the other hand, supports DisplayPort 1.4 and, thanks to its IPS display, can achieve refresh rates of up to 160Hz.

The ASUS ROG Strix XG32UQ features a variable refresh rate (VVR) and is compatible with FreeSync Premium Pro and G-SYNC.

Another characteristic of the monitor is its DisplayHDR 600 certification, and it has a USB 3.2 Type-B Gen 1 (5 Gbps) port as well as two USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 1 connectors. There are no USB Type-A connectors. It also cannot serve as a KVM.

The IPS panel, as previously stated, covers 96 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 130 percent of the sRGB area, with brightness in SDR mode of 450 candelas per square meter (cd/m2).

All of this adds up to ASUS implementing its own visual effects elements for gaming and what the maker refers to as extremely low motion blur. Because the panel is factory calibrated, it should be ready to use right away for game projection.

A curious feature of the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UQ is the screw mount on the top of the kickstand, which should allow you to attach a camera mount, for example. Prices are unknown for the time being, although estimations place them at about $1,000.
