Twitter allowed all users to remove followers

Twitter has finally enabled all users to remove followers without having to block them beforehand. So far, all those who have used the social network through the web, not the application, have been disabled.

Something like this was tested through September and apparently, the company concluded that the right time had come for a more concrete move. And as of October 11, it has become official, followers can be removed by web users without the need to block. In this way, Twitter can certainly position itself in the market somewhat better.

Certainly, users will be satisfied because when the unwanted follower is removed, it is not visible. It can be noticed, of course, because no tweet from that point on will be shown to that removed person anymore. And all you have to do is go to the Followers tab on your own profile, click on the three dots next to the user you want to remove, and then select "Remove this follower".

This is part of Twitter’s efforts to reduce the harassment of users of that platform. Blocking someone who doesn’t want to be followed can lead to that person’s revenge through their secondary accounts, as soon as they find out about the blocking. If, in turn, they are removed in this way and then turned off, it potentially leaves room for them not to know what is going on. Unless they have another account or see via someone else's account that there are tweets that are not visible.

This method will not prevent someone you remove from your watchlist from seeing your publicly available tweets and this should be kept in mind.

Also, Twitter is testing a security mode, which automatically blocks accounts that use “potentially harmful language”. At the same time, several possibilities for filtering and limiting responses are being explored, so it seems that the company still gives priority to preventing harassment in front of insults or similar verbal offenses ...
