Alan Wake 2: The story "is a monster"

Sam Lake, the senior writer and creative director of Alan Wake 2, which is currently under development at Remedy, described the tale of the survival horror title as a "monster" on Twitter. The first survival horror film from the studio is set to be released in 2023.

Alan Wake and Remedy lead writer Clay Murphy stand with their writer's keyboards as if they were playing guitar in the aforementioned tweet. Between the two is a massive mound of paper that practically dwarfs the authors.

Sam Lake says that the writers for Alan Wake 2 have constructed a plot with more pages than ever before. "This story is a monster," Sam Lake declares triumphantly. "After a short summer break in this dark area called the Writers' Room, we will write more," says the author.

Sam Lake touted Alan Wake 2 as the studio's "first survival horror" in a recent video update. "It's a new genre, and we're going farther into the horror side, but we also like to explore character depth," Same Lake explained.

Already in the first installment, the tale was intricate and mysterious, but also complicated, and it entered the genre of psychological mystery thrillers. The fact that Sam Lake described the sequel's tale as a monster in terms of quantity should bring tears to the eyes of Alan Wake fans.
