Alienware m17 R5 and x17 R2: 480 Hz displays
Alienware has announced the release of two new gaming laptops with 480Hz refresh rates. Read on to learn more about the gadgets' features.
For many years, Dell's Alienware brand did not use AMD processors. The tide has shifted. Customers can pick between a Ryzen 7 6800H and a Ryzen 9 6900HX processor for the new Alienware m17 R5 gaming laptop.
Both 17-inch gaming laptops have the new, optional Full HD display with a refresh rate of 480 Hz. Players of first-person shooters will benefit the most since unsettling ghosting effects will be decreased. The screens utilized are most likely AU Optronics TN panels.
The m17 R5 is positioned by Alienware as a gaming laptop with AMD power, with consumers able to select between an AMD Radeon and an Nvidia Geforce GPU.
The Alienware x17 R2 with Intel processors is another option. According to the manufacturer, they are especially happy with the improved cooling. The x17 R2 is flatter, however, this saves on connections and eliminates the need for a LAN connection.

The Alienware m17 R5 with the 480 Hz display costs at least 2,500 dollars and is currently available for order. Those who choose an Intel CPU Alienware x17 R2 will have to pay at least 2,650 dollars for the equipment version with a 480 Hz display.
