Samsung will release a 980 PRO SSD compatible for the PS5 console

Samsung has confirmed that the company’s 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD (when used with a compatible heat conductor) meets all of Sony’s hardware requirements and supports PlayStation 5 storage expansion features.

Samsung's 980 PRO SSD is a great PCIe 4.0 SSD option for gamers on PCs and consoles, offering users sequential data read speeds of up to 7000 MB / s and high levels of conventional SSD performance, thanks to the Elpis controller and the latest 3D V-NAND flash chips.

In addition, Samsung has confirmed that the new 980 PRO SSD will be released later this year and will have a built-in heat conductor. This "heatsink" should be compatible with the PlayStation 5 console, and will also be useful for PC system creators who do not have an integrated M.2 SSD heat conductor.
