In line with CES 2022, Asus has announced new accessories for gamers. These include the ROG Fusion II 500 and 300 headsets, the ROG Strix Flare II Animate keyboard, and the updated ROG Chakram X mouse.
Asus presented new portable gaming laptops and a gaming tablet in time for CES 2022. The innovations include AMD’s Ryzen 6000 and Intel’s Alder Lake. At the technology fair, Asus presented new accessories as well as new gaming laptops. There are two new headsets called ROG Fusion II 500 and 300, the keyboard ROG Strix Flare II Animate, and the new edition of the wireless mouse ROG Chakram with the title Chakram X.
ROG Fusion II 500 and 300 wired gaming headsets
With the Quad-DAC technology in the ESS 9280, the headsets ROG Fusion II 500 and 300 should impress with high-resolution sound. The two audio devices offer virtual 7.1 surround sound and come with 50 mm drivers. A microphone with active noise suppression is also installed. According to Asus, the AI-based Noise Cancelation should be able to filter more than 500 million types of background noise.
In the ROG Fusion II 500, there is – exclusively – volume control for game chat, as well as a 3.5 mm jack connection as an alternative to the two USB ports. Both the ROG Fusion II 500 and the cheaper ROG Fusion II 300 come with a USB-C and a USB-A port and are therefore compatible with PCs, Macs, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles, and smartphones. The RGB lighting is mandatory for both headsets.
Gaming keyboard with and without an additional display
The ROG Strix Flare II keyboard is available in two different versions. Only the Animate version comes with an additional display, exchangeable switches, and a light diffuser for the palm rest. Both mechanical keyboards have metal media controls and removable palm rest. The switch stabilizer mechanism should reduce friction and the noise-insulating foam should improve the acoustics, according to the manufacturer. Asus promises high performance with a polling rate of 8,000 Hz and a response time of 0.125 ms. Thanks to the USB passthrough of the ROG Strix Flare II Animate, you can also connect other USB devices. Red, brown, or blue mechanical switches are available as switches.
New ROG Chakram X gaming mouse
With the ROG Chakram, Asus added a particularly well-equipped model to its portfolio of wireless mice in 2020. It contacts the PC via the 2.4 GHz band or Bluetooth and offers, among other things, an analog stick with various attachments, a customizable, RGB-illuminated logo in the rear, and exchangeable Omron key switches.
Now the Taiwanese are sending the successor to the race with the ROG Chakram X. A new optical sensor with up to 36,000 dpi and a polling rate of 8,000 Hz is used here. It is possible to use the rodent via USB cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz radio. With the new concave, programmable joystick with four buttons, the gaming mouse should sit better in the hand than its predecessor. In addition, you can now replace the switches and thus extend the life of the mouse, so that its use is more sustainable and environmentally friendly. For power supply, the battery of the ROG Chakram X can be charged either via USB or wirelessly via the Qi charging station.
